Ed Sheeran Gets Engaged To Childhood Friend Cherry Seaborn – Got myself a fiancé just before new year. We are very happy and in love, and our cats are chuffed as well xx, Ed Sheeran, 26, announced on his Instagram page on Saturday, where the informed his 19 million followers and the world has been in frenzy since then.
Even if the name Ed Sheeran sounds strange to you, then his music “Thinking out loud” should not at all. The amazing multi platinum singer announced on Staturday that he will be getting married to his longtime girlfriend, Cherry Seaborn, 24, by engagement.

Ed Sheeran and his beautiful accountant fiance were both born in Suffolk and started dating in 2015. Prior to that time, they had met at Thomas Mills High School at Framlingham where Ed was quoted to have crushed on his old classmate.
The pair have had to deal with long distance relationship as Cherry attended Duke University in North Carolina while Ed was busy with a musical career in the UK. After months of living apart in love, Cherry had to move to the UK to join Ed and so their relationship blossomed.
How long has Ed Sheeran and Cherry Seaborn been dating?
The pair have been dating since 2015. They first decided to make their relationship secret but after they were pictures kissing in 2016 during the party Taylor Swift threw for the pair to celebrate their one year relationship anniversary, the dating became public.
Ed Sheeran told People Magazine last year that he and Seaborn have known each other since they were kids but they didn’t start dating until she came for Taylor Swift’s Fourth of July Party upon invitation in 2015.
He was asked sometimes ago if there was going to be future in their relationship and he responded that:
“I’m pretty…yeah I feel pretty good about it.”
He also stated that he would “love” to start a family with his old school pal.
When he appeared on a radio show in Australia, The Kyle and Jackie O Show, Ed said: “Yeah, potentially. I would like some kids.”
In an interview with Clash Magazine, Ed Sheeran said
‘I always thought to have a really good career, you always had to be incredibly unhappy, and I always thought to be really happy, you had to have a bad career, because I didn’t see the balance of the two.
‘And I’ve realised that that’s obviously bulls**t, and just what you tell yourself to justify it.
‘I live with Cherry now. We’ve got cats, we have takeaways and watch movies, we have people round for dinner. I’ve never had that.’
Was 2017 a blessing to Ed Sheeran?
Ed Sheeran wrote a ballad “Perfect” in 2017 and later did a remix of the song with Beyoncé, in December same year. A song that cooped the number spot for Christmas, he said Perfect was inspired by his girlfriend Cherry.
He also enthused that it was an ‘actual dream come true’ and he was ‘very proud’ to reach make the number one spot with Perfect. In his statement to OfficialCharts.com:
‘Thank you very much for making Perfect Christmas Number 1. This is an actual dream come true and I’m very proud and happy.’
In the same 2017, his album “Divide” was also according to data by Nielsen the most popular album on streaming services.

Cherry Seaborn was an incredible hockey player during her time in the United States. She won the British University Championships with her team in 2012 and 2013. Cherry also helped the England’s U21 team claim a bronze medal at the Europeans Championships in 2012, according to the BBC.
