As expected, Deedee was at the August Edition of the 3 creatives 1 night event in Lagos. Deedee’s favorite spot in Ikoyi, Samantha’s bistro was filled to the brim with guests ranging from bloggers, fashion enthusiasts, to media personalities.
Fashion creatives in persons of E-tailer, Ebele Udoh, Fashion and Brand Expert, Sharmaine Adeyemi and Publisher of Exquisite Magazine, Tewa Onasanya all spoke about their experience and motivations in the Nigerian fashion space.
The creatives mentioned issues on managing fashion brands, publishing a fashion and lifestyle magazine, and the essence of e-tailer in the Nigerian fashion Industry.
on E-tail, Ebele had this to say:
What if you understand that you don’t have to open more stores, the cost of running your cost are reduced, repeated operational cost just by listing your product online and millions of people across the world see it. You don’t have anything to lose.
Just to understand that you have to meet the need, produce small and be aware that people are looking at your product across your world.
You cant over emphaise, E-tail is the new mini-god.
On Exquitie magazine, Tewa had this to say:
I really wanted to start a magazine for black women….
I was very fashionable…..I am quite fashionable…
I love fashion, I love writing. How do that translate to a magazine that other people would want to purchase, other people would want to subscribe to, other people would want to advertise in…. I went out seeking knowledge and believe me you, I actually found a book titled HOW TO START A MAGAZINE!
What a journey!
Brand expert, Sharmaine also shared her story:
So far, I have worked with people in foods and beverage because I also bring foods and beverage brands into Africa. I also have worked with the kids brands…
I am working with a client that started up a home fragrance brand, so the list is endless because with my background, I started off with accessories, I use to work with one of the biggest accessories suppliers in the UK.
Enlightening and truly inspiring! WoW!!!
