The couple spoke together and informed Dee Weddings Team that ‘we met at Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH)’.
FIRST IMPRESSIONS
On Akeem first impression of Lateefah
When I met her at LUTH then, what came to my nice was WOW! Nice babe though. (Who would not be wowed by a beautiful princess, not me!)
Lateefah in her words ‘I said to myself, this guy is such a naughty guy. What naughtiness’.
WAS IT A LOVE AT FIRST MEET?
For Akeem, loving Lateefah came like almost immediately after seeing her. In his words, falling in love with Lateefah was ‘ YES and NO’ situation!
After meeting Akeem, it was not a case of love at first sight for Lateefah as she just got out of a relationship at that time! So No No!!
SPEAKING OF ATTRACTIONS
Akeem was attracted to Lateefah because she was FRIENDLY, ACCOMODATIVE and SOMEONE I can always run to when I’ve got stories and gists to share with her!
For Lateefah ‘ I was attracted to Akeem because he was CALM and STRAIGHTFORWARD‘
TO THE DEAL BREAKER, HOW DID AKEEM ASK LATEEFAH OUT?
Lateefah in her words ‘ Hmmmmn, Akeem asked me out stylishly. We were good friends, yea? So it was kinda hard for him to come out with ease. Eventually we started dating but because we were closer as friends, we had a lot of ups and downs. At a point he begged for a break so that he could get his head straight but we forged ahead in our togetherness!
I said yes to Akeem because he was all I wanted in a guy. I prayed and watched him well. Then I had no choice than to say YES to him!’
WERE THERE ISSUES IN THE RELATIONSHIP? HOW DID YOU DEAL?
Akeem: ‘Yes there were, but whenever that happens. I always tell her to speak out whenever we are having issues. Also I try as much as possible to be the FIRST TO SAY SORRY!‘
Lateefah: ‘Saying sorry was the ultimatum in ever relationship issues. Whenever there are issues, we tend to focus on the future and try as much as possible to apologize and say sorry’
Akeem continued ‘I am excited about Lateefah because my naughtiness kind of rubbed on her after we started dating and she became a naughty and more beautiful, bubbly woman!’
Lateefah had this to say ‘ Akeem’s ability to stand by time through the time really excites me. Not forgetting the fact that it was his naughtiness that got me attracted to him in the first place. he is such an AMAZING MAN!‘
PROPOSAL
Akeem in his words: We have been friends for 6 months before I decided to propose to her. I think God made the push to propose. However I waited for the right time I was so sure of not toiling with her heart. We dated for one year before our wedding!
