Welcome to another weekly edition of SupermartNG Food recipes for the week:
1 Lentil Soup
This is a good way to break a fast in the Ramadan Season! A complete meal with carrot splash. Spicy all the way and allows you choose your texture. You can also enjoy this in red and orange lentil variant. Thinking of the right nutrient? It got it!
Ingredients
1 pc onions
2 pcs garlic
1 cup red/orange lentil
1 pc lemon
1 tbsp cumin powder
2 pcs carrot
1 tbsps olive oil
1 tsp salt
1 tsp dried ground pepper
4 cups water
1 cup stock
2 pcs parsley
Method
Firstly chop the carrot and onions. Also mince the garlic and set aside.
Place a sauce pan over medium heat. Pour the olive oil, minced garlic and chopped onions. Allow to heat until the onions become translucent. Add the chopped carrot and continue to stir.
Add the water, stock and lentils and allow to boil over lower temperature for about an hour. Add pepper and salt and ½ teaspoon of cumin powder.
Stir and serve. Alternatively, allow to cool and blend to desired texture.
Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with slices

2 Pasta & Meatballs
Pasta is highly accepted especially among kids. Meatballs are a delight and this time we chose cream crackers over bread crumbs to give it a scrumptious taste. Thinking of a meal for the kids? Here you go! The taste of these meatballs are just heavenly.
Ingredients
500 g minced meat
12 pcs cream crackers
3 tbsps vegetable oil
2 pcs garlic
1 bunch basil
1 pc(s) onions
400 g spaghetti
800 g tomato paste
1 pc egg
2 tbsps vinegar
1 tsp rosemary seasoning
2 tsps mustard powder
1 tsp dried ground pepper
1 tsp salt
1 pc chilli
1 tbsp cheese
Method
Firstly chop the onions, garlic, chilli and basil and set aside.
Put the crackers in a towel and crush into fine powder. Put in a large bowl. Add the minced meat, mustard seed and rosemary to the bowl. Crack the egg into the bowl and add a pinch of salt and pepper.
Scrunch the mixture with clean hands until properly mixed. Roll into 24 meatballs and drizzle with little oil.. Put the meatballs in a tray and put in the fridge to firm up before frying. Alternatively fry immediately in 1 tablespoon of oil over medium heat for about 10 minutes and set aside. Ensure that the meatballs have no sign of pink when cut open.
In a sauce, heat 2 tablespoons of oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and allow to heat for about 7 minutes until tender. Add the garlic and as they start to get color, add the chopped basil leaves, chilli, plum tomatoes, vinegar and season to taste. Stir and allow to boil. Reduce the heat add the fried meatballs to the sauce and allow to simmer for about 5 minutes.
Cook the pasta in a lightly salted water for about 10 minutes or until soft. Allow to drain in a sieve.
Serve the cooked pasta with the meatball tomato sauce and sprinkle with finely grated cheese. Garnish with a piece of basil and enjoy.

3 Chocolate Cookies
These cookies are easy to bake wonders. Crunchy and chocolaty! Suitable for breakfast and snacks. The chopped almonds gives it a classy look. You should consider this for breakfast on your child’s special day because chocolate is fun anytime.
Ingredients
2 cups plain flour
1 cup almonds Tin
115 g unsalted butter
1 cup sugar
1 cup condensed milk
1 cup chocolate powder
1 tbsp baking powder
Method
Sift the flour and baking powder into a mixing bowl. Add the butter and ½ cup chocolate powder to bowl and mix properly with finger tips.
Add ½ cup of chopped almond and ½ cup of sugar to the mixture. Pour ½ cup of condensed milk gently into the mixture and mix well.
Roll the mixture into balls and place on a greased baking tray.
Bake the ball at 190 degrees for about 30 minutes.
Serve with any food beverage of your choice.

4 Red Cabbage – Pineapple Smoothie
This smoothie not only looks good, it tastes good too! And I love the purple color of red cabbage! A good choice when trying to get the kids to take vegetables. It is lot more exciting with the pineapple flavor. Get a glass and start the day right.
Ingredients
1 pc red cabbage
1 pc pineapple
2 pc banana
Method
Start by shredding the cabbage to fill 2 cups and set aside. Peel the pineapple and squeeze out the juice to fill two cups and set aside.
Combine the shredded cabbage, pineapple juice and banana and blend until smooth. Alternatively, this can be done at night and put in the fridge.
Serve in a glass.
