Old School Games You Can Play During Lockdown With Your Family

After having gone through all your favorite series and the latest movies, you may be exasperated with boredom. Especially with the lockdown in place, you could be missing your usual fun of going out with your friends to let off some steam.

If you live with your family, then not only do you have to deal with your own boredom but that of your kids too.

If this is you, then we have a super fun solution for you. Get back in touch with the old-school fun games that brought about so much laughter and entertainment. Ditch the screens for a while, have a healthy competition while spending some quality time with your family. You will not regret it.

To refresh your memory we have listed below some fun games that will bring back happy memories of your childhood and help you recreate them with your family.

Cascading Domino Effect

This game gives you a boost of coordination and teamwork. You will need a large empty space and multiple sets of dominoes. Start by mapping out a design and then place the domino tiles vertically in a pattern one after the other. Put in between a gap of half an inch.

When you are creating a corner or a turn, place the dominoes slightly closer to each other in the direction you want it to move. When you are done, flip the first one and watch the stream of dominoes topple one after the other.

The person who can get the whole line to collapse is the winner. You can have more fun by adding more complex designs.

House Of Cards

This can be hours of fun guaranteed. You will need a flat surface and a set of playing cards to play this one. Start by leaning the first two cards together to form a triangle.

Then form the second triangle next to the first one. Try to balance another card between the two triangles created. Once you have formed the basic structure continue making it bigger until all cards are used. The winner is the one who can use all the cards without causing them to collapse.

Tic-Tac-Toe

This good old game has been a means of entertainment anywhere from the back of the school notes books to drawing it on the sandy beach. Tic Tac Toe can be played by two people only and you will need just a pencil and a paper. Draw a 9 box pattern on a piece of paper.

The first player marks an ‘X’ in the square while the second one marks an ‘O’. As you take alternate turns to play you have to build a strategy so that your opponent doesn’t get three squares in a row. When one of the players does get it, they are declared the winner.

Thumb Wrestling

The only thing you need for this game is, well thumbs! Players face each other and extend their hands into a handshake position. The thumb rests on the first and once the game has started the opponents try to pin down the thumb of the other for more than 5 seconds.

You can increase it to 10 seconds if you would like to make the game more competitive.

Play these games and enjoy an evening with your family. Not only will you have loads of laughter from it but definitely be able to take a nice walk down memory lane.
