AWCA LAGOS BLOCK PARTY THEMED AFROREALISM

You are in a dilemma, you do not know how and where to spend your Sunday. I have gist for you on the coolest place to be on the 30th October 2016.

It’s at the Whitespace Creative guys’ LAGOS BLOCK PARTY.

Guess what! I will also be a part of this amazing Street Party, PHOTO-BLOGGING and just enough fun to kickstart my week. YIPPEE!!

THE BLOCK PARTY SERIES is a bi-annual event where people can come together to affirm, explore and celebrate values, ideas and belief, systems using music, dance, film, visual arts and literature. The BLOCK PARTY is an open street initiative where people from all works of life to come and express themselves on a unique platform. It is believed that these expressions impact upon and contribute to development and the affirmation of individual and collective identity.

There will be a whole lot of undiluted fun and amazing number of DJs, yoga, food, games, and much more! Lagos Island will be shut down. After the block party, the train will move to the rooftop of City Hall. Don’t dull!!

ACTIVITY AT THE LAGOS BLOCK PARTY INCLUDES:

ROOKIE STREET DJ OF THE YEAR

Pre-party event where rookie DJs send in entries to participate at the BLOCK PARTY and winning dj gets nominated by the crowd as “Street DJ of the year”.

FOOD & MIXOLOGIST STREET

An explosive selection of food and drinks, with chefs, restaurants and vendors serving an array of fantastic food and drinks

GAMES

Foosball, ping pong, pool, frisbee, street twister etc

LIVE ART + PERFORMANCE

Get involved! people, indivdiuals, families and children get to experience a host of live art performances, theatre, live drawing/graffiti

HOTSPOTS

Get the community involved, create hotspots around the community, with street braiding hair salons and other local business enterprises etc

This Year’s edition of the LAGOS BLOCK PARTY promises to be better. This is the time for you to engage, socialise and have as much fun as possible on the streets of Lagos.
