POETRY PERFORMANCE: AKEEM LASISI DOCUMENTING ROMANTIC POEMS IN MUSIC

After retouching the pictures from the CAG bloggers’ forum pictures I went for yesterday. I was surfing the web trying to catch up with the latest gists online and at the same time lazying around watching TV, when this beautiful poetic performance by Akeem Lasisi, ‘UDEME’ was brought on screen by Africa Magic. I was not really particular about the song until the lyrical content streamed into my ears. I was jolted out of Lightroom that I focused straight onto the catchy lines and engaging video that I had no choice than to bring it in here for you guys to see.

I was really impressed by the song which cut through, all genres locally and internationally. Akeem Lasisi is an award winning poet who is also a comedian, composer and journalist.A leading light in contemporary poetry performance and with experience in the traditional entertainment industry. He has indeed carved a niche for himself by telling stories using poems.

Akeem has won a lot of awards both locally and internationally, which is one of the reasons why he is a prized asset for the Punch Newspapers where he works.

I am indeed impressed with his style and creativity which completely syncs into the deedee brand!

Enough of the autobiography, his poetic video ‘UDEME’ will make all lovers, married and unmarried love birds fall in love with love again! One of the best videos, I’ve seen in recent time! We really need more creative individuals like Akeem Lasisi in Nigeria, this is a video with a whole lot of difference as against what is obtainable in our everyday Nigerian musical life. LOL!
